International Automobile Association was founded in the former Soviet Union in the period so called "Perestroika", when citizens of USSR were officially allowed to travel abroad. At that time, while traveling abroad most of the Soviet people faced problem with driving licenses that were not recognized and or accepted by another Country or State. At that time, a first Translation Agency, with its President Alexander Tolchinsky and Ofer Arad started business to facilitate translation of driving licenses. The agency had a lot of branches located in big cities of former Soviet Union republics.

In mid of the 90-ies Government of the Russian Federation adopted a new form of their own driving license and it was requested IAA to reduce the volume of services on the territory of Russian Federation. Then it was decided to set up a head office of IAA in New York City, USA where the company International Automobile Association was registered. At the present time our Company is one of the reliable companies in the world that provides translation of national driving licenses wherever you live and wherever you travel.
